Because
of the nature of translator training, students have
access to a wide spectrum of the faculty of the
Spanish and Portuguese Department. The specific
translation courses are taught by native speakers of
the target language who are practicing translators.
Special guest lecturers from the practicing
community often participate in practical exercises
and activities.
The
Spanish Translation major provides pre-professional
training in the theory and practice of translation
and interpretation both for students planning to
translate professionally and for students wishing to
add translation and/or interpretation as an
ancillary skill.
